Accessibility statement · reviewed September 2026
Built to be used by everyone on the committee.

What we test
What we test, and the latest numbers.
From the most recent quality pass on this site, September 2026.
- 62pages checked for text contrast at 1440 and 390 pixels, over 16,000 text elements; none failed
- 6screen widths, 360 to 1440 pixels, with no sideways scrolling
- 18menu checks by keyboard, mouse and touch, all passing
- 0animations left running when you ask for reduced motion
| What we check | How | Where |
|---|---|---|
| Text contrast (1.4.3) | Every text element measured against its background in a real browser; the colour pairs are documented with their ratios | Every page, at 1440 and 390 pixels wide |
| Keyboard (2.1.1, 2.4.3, 2.4.7) | Menus open with Enter and the arrow keys, Home and End jump, Esc closes and returns focus; the mobile menu moves focus in and makes the page behind it inert | The header, on every page |
| Reduced motion (2.3.3) | With reduced motion set, animations, transitions and hover movement switch off | Every page |
| Reflow (1.4.10) | No sideways scrolling at 360, 390, 820, 1024, 1280 and 1440 pixels | Every page |
| Structure (1.3.1, 2.4.2) | The build fails a page without exactly one H1, a unique title, or alt text, width and height on every image | Every page, every build |
| Language (3.1.1) | Every page declares British English | Every page |
By design
What is built in, so nobody has to remember it.
Built into every page
- A skip link to the main content
- Visible focus outlines
- A label on every form field
- Form results announced to screen readers
- Questions and answers on native disclosure controls
- Tables with header cells
- Decorative icons hidden from assistive technology
- Illustrations labelled as single images
- No video or sound that plays by itself
- Nothing that flashes
- Content that does not depend on JavaScript
- Help in the same place on every page
Known gaps
What we know is missing, before you find it.
If any of these stops you doing something on this site, tell us and we will find another way.
- No screen-reader session has been recorded yet with NVDA, JAWS, VoiceOver or TalkBack
- No independent accessibility audit of alumdeck.com
- Reflow is tested down to 360 pixels wide, not the 320 that WCAG uses
- Drawn product illustrations are single images with a short description; the sample text inside them is not read out line by line
- Screenshots of the demo carry alt text, but the words in them cannot be selected or resized as text
- The human check on the forms is Cloudflare's Turnstile widget, which we cannot change
- The AlumDeck software itself, including the live demo, is not covered by this statement and has not been audited against WCAG Planned: release 2.0

We tell you what we will change and when. If you need something in another format meanwhile, such as the text of a page in an email, we send it.
Questions
Questions about accessibility
Which standard does alumdeck.com follow?
We aim for the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA. We have not had an independent audit, so we describe the site as partly conformant, and this page lists the gaps we know about.
Does the AlumDeck software meet WCAG?
This statement covers alumdeck.com only. The software your members and committee use, which you can try in the live demo, has not been audited against WCAG. Conformance work for it, with a published statement, is planned for release 2.0.
Can I get a page in another format?
Yes. Ask through the contact form and we will send the text of any page, such as the licence or the terms of sale, as plain text in an email.
Can I use the site with animations switched off?
Yes. Set reduce motion in your device settings and every animation, transition and hover movement on this site switches off. Nothing depends on them.
