Public roadmap
What we build next, in order.
Seven releases and a backlog, each with the capabilities it adds. Everything on this page is planned, which means it is not in AlumDeck today. There are no dates, because a date we miss helps nobody; the order is the promise.
How the order was chosen
Three rules decide the order.
We compared AlumDeck with six alumni platforms: 177 capabilities they have that AlumDeck lacks or does less well. 137 are planned below; 40 we have decided not to build.
Nothing sells until it can be bought and used legally
Release 1.1 opens checkout, ships what the demo runs, and adds an unsubscribe to every bulk email, which mail providers and the law expect.
Then the biggest gaps, money first
Taking money on the site comes before groups: every class already has its own room, and money has no workaround at all.
Upgrade what exists before building something new
Improving code that is already there reaches you sooner than a new module.
The plan
Seven releases and a backlog.
Release 1.1 is next. The rest follow in this order, each one included in your licence.
1.1
Ship it, fix it, make it legal
- Checkout opens, and the download matches what the live demo runs
- An unsubscribe link in every bulk email, and a preferences page that needs no sign-in
- Bulk invitations for imported members, with up to two reminders
- Hidden directory fields stop matching searches, and a "my class only" privacy level
- One-click updates, with a backup first and an automatic rollback
- Secure defaults: HTTPS, secure cookies and admin two-factor on from the start
- Photo thumbnails, and a security policy that lets YouTube and analytics tags load
- A setup checklist on the dashboard, rewritten docs and short videos of the core tasks
- Your own word for "batch", and editable headings on every built-in page
- Complete member data exports, deletion emails and cookie categories
- Back-up-now and download buttons on the Backups page
- A security summary for IT reviews, a disclosure policy and a customer forum

Deliberately not building
What we will not build, and why.
Each of these breaks the $49 price, shared hosting or the promise that your data stays yours.
- Hosted AlumDeck with an uptime promise. It is self-hosted by design, and $49 cannot carry hosting for every customer.
- Apps in the App Store or Google Play. Each institution would need its own developer accounts; an installable web app does the job.
- SOC 2 or ISO 27001. AlumDeck never holds your members' data; a security summary and a pen test take their place.
- A dedicated account manager or phone support around the clock. Email support from the people who build it instead.
- Native two-way sync with Raiser's Edge, Salesforce or HubSpot. The API in 2.0 lets any CRM connect.
- Built-in video calls. Mentors paste a Meet, Zoom or Jitsi link.
- A free plan or a trial. The live demo and a 14-day money-back guarantee instead.
- Raffles, auctions and paddle raises. The law differs in every country.
- Email A/B tests. Association lists are too small for a split to mean anything.
- Scoring people by wealth, or scraping LinkedIn. A privacy-first product should not profile its members.
- More than one institution in one install. A second campus buys a second licence.
Questions
About the roadmap.
Are there dates?
No. A date we miss helps nobody, and a volunteer committee plans around what exists. The order is the promise: release 1.1 first, then each release in turn.
Will our licence cover these releases?
Every release dated inside your licence year is yours to download. When a release lands after your year ends, renewing brings it within reach.
Will new features cost extra?
No. There are no tiers and no add-ons: every release adds to the same $49 licence.
Can we ask for something?
Yes, through the contact form. Tell us what your committee does by hand today; that is the evidence that moves an item up. A customer forum where associations can vote is planned for release 1.1.
Why does money come before groups?
Because every class already gets a private room of its own automatically, which covers the grouping a single school needs most. Taking money on the site has no workaround at all, and it is the most common reason associations pay for software.
What if the plan changes?
Then this page changes with it, and the changelog records what actually shipped.
